The OnOff node is a switch that sets whether or not images appear at its output. By default, or when the node's XSheet column has a blank, any input images are not output; but when the column has a hold, any input images are composited and output. So an OnOff node with this column in the XSheet:
would output for frames 1 - 3, but not for frame 4 onwards.
You can't set an OnOff node's keyframes to inbetween; if you need to fade an image in or out, you should instead use an Opacity node (see Changing opacity).
